GRAN DIAMOND WENT GATE TO WIRE

Gran Diamond took the victory in the 7th race of this Sunday at Gulfstream Park, ridden by Venezuelan champion Emisael Jaramillo.

It was a Maiden Claiming with a purse of $ 19,000,  Gran Diamond is a daughter of Fed Biz out of Kuba to Naqua by Marquetry, she achieved her 1st triumph in 6 presentations, placing her winnings in $ 23,200.

The three-year-old scored a wire to wire win, leaving the following splits in the 5 furlongs turf track: 21.78 in the first quarter (400 meters), the half mile (800m) in 45.07 with a finish time of 57.13

The 3-year-old filly defended the traditional Venezuelan colors of the Granpollo Stable. Victor Barboza Jr reached his 8th victory in the current Sprint Meet, the No. 16 in 2019 and the 206 carrer victory in the US. Once again Jaramillo and Barboza Jr combined to get this new win in Gulfstream Park.

Victor Barboza Jr closed the week ranking 10th among the coaches with $ 216,508 in arnings out of only 50 starts.
