Salsa Jack took the victory in the 11th race, this rainy Saturday at Gulfstream Park, with the Venezuelan champion Emisael Jaramillo, the race was a $6,250 Claiming.
The 4-year-old rider was places behind the speed during the early stages of the race then he finished strong to get his 5th campaign victory out of 20 starts on the track, placing his earnings at $101,488.
Salsa Jack is a son of Two Step Salsa out of Roxie Fast Moon by Malibu Moon, bred by Southwind Stables Inc. He earned his 2nd win of the year, leaving time of 1:38.52 for the mile run on the sloppy main track.
The successful Emisael Jaramillo -Victor Barboza Jr duo combined again to achieve this victory, trainer Victor Barboza Jr said: “we have around 120 victories together”. Barboza Jr achieved his 10th win in the present meeting, the No. 20 so far in 2019. At the end of the Saturday session he ranks 6th among the trainers by wins and an ranks 10th by earnings in the Spring Meet.
