Beth’s Dream dominates the scene and projects to the Princess Rooney Stakes, heading to the Breeders
At her best, Beth’s Dream (Jess’s Dream) ratified that she is the best mature mare in Florida by remaining unbeaten this 2024, in the Gulsftream Park arena, after four starts.
It was the Sheer Drama Stakes (7F, 100K), and the chestnut trained by Victor Barboza Jr was ready from the first jump. She came alongside Immora (Violence) in 22″90 to open the first part. From there, the favorite dominated the event to make herself unreachable towards the finish line.
Upon entering right field, Emisael Jaramillo asked the Virginia Gamble-owned mare for the effort, to break away with at least five lengths ahead of Maryquitecontrary (First Dude) and Charlie’s Wish (First Dude) and BlueField (Field Commission) who completed the rest of the positions, with the winner using 1’23″05 for the distance.
«She’s in her prime, now the goal is the Princess Princess Rooney Stakes (G3),» said Barboza, on the qualifier for the Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Sprint (G1), to be run on September 21 at Gulsftream Park.
Florida-bred Beth’s Dream, with a campaign of nine wins in 16 starts, this will be her final season as a runner and at six years old, her final date is expected to be in the afternoon Breeders’ Cup at Del Mar, California.
